Warm welcome on transition day
ANOTHER eager cohort of students descended on the high school as we hosted our annual Year 6 Transition Day.
On Tuesday, December 4, around 120 students participated in the final instalment of our extensive Transition Program.
Students from Alexandra Bay, Daintree, Julatten, Miallo, Mossman, Mount Molloy, Port Douglas, Saint Augustine’s and Wonga Beach schools spent the day at our school.
Many students began their day with a bus trip into school while others were brought in by parents.
Once the school day started, we put them straight to work after sorting them into their classes for 2019.
From the beginning, there was lots of getting to know each other, as students became acquainted with their new classmates and their new teachers.
Throughout the day, students experienced a taste of what to expect next year, and to participate in morale building activities.
We joined together at lunch time to celebrate the day with a sausage sizzle and a shared cake to welcome them all. By all accounts it was a successful day.
The staff at Mossman High School look forward to working closely with our new students and their families in 2019.
If you have a son or daughter who is due to start Year 7 next year, and you have not enrolled them, please contact the school office on 4084 1333.
