TAKE A BREAK
The next time you start to feel overwhelmed trying to find the perfect bathroom tiles or just can’t concentrate when doing your online banking, take a micro-break. Spending too long focused on one task, especially when you’re already feeling frustrated and frazzled, is unproductive, according to a new study from the University of Illinois.
The research found that simply taking a short break when you are feeling overwhelmed leads to improved energy and concentration. (Just don’t let your break turn into an excuse to avoid the task.) A walk around the block or a quick chat with a friend could be all you need to get your head back in the game.
