SCINTO SAYS…
Back to Italy for another sprint
Long transfers are complex and need staff at both ends to handle extra logistics. The important thing is to get the riders there with as little stress as possible because they accumulate enough of that over the three weeks. We think about the non-cycling stuff so they don’t have to.
Since lots could go wrong, our job is to ensure that it doesn’t. It shouldn’t be too bad in this instance, and obviously we have a rest day to accomplish everything. The stage itself is a loop, and then a kermesse around Bari. Basically this will be three hours, pretty much flat-out, with a sprint at the end of it. It’s a huge day for the
velocisti, obviously…
>> The peloton will be glad for a short day in the saddle after the trip from Dublin but given the short distance of the stage they shouldn’t expect an easy one
