Few chances left for the sprinters
The Giro starts to take on a different complexion now as most riders have been tired for a few days, so the non-GC riders are thinking about self-preservation. It’s time to use psychology.
You have to know how to get the best from each rider. The only way to get through the Giro is to stay positive, and to stay together. Some deal with fatigue well but a lot will be dreading what’s to come. Sometimes I need to convince them to keep racing aggressively. The stage is a bit up and down but I think it will come together for the sprinters. It’s a big day for them, because after this they only have two more cracks at it.
