This new top-of-the-range shoe from Pearl Izumi is put together with a seamless upper just 0.9mm thick and recalls the design of running spikes. It’s designed to fit more snugly to the shape of your foot, reducing the chances of friction. At 266g for a size 45, the Leader II is impressively light, that figure achieved through the use of a new Octane 1:1 UD carbon sole with moulded toe and heel bumpers and two large vents. Closure is via one centrally-mounted Boa dial and a Velcro strap. It’s available in sizes 38-49, with half sizes up to 47.
