STAGE RACE WINS

Alejandro Valverde’s headline win in 2018 was the World Championships road race. However, he also added four more GC titles to a running total which is greater than that of any other current cyclist. He’s won 23 stage races, seven more than the next most successful rider, Chris Froome, with 16. Nairo Quintana’s career may be increasingly being de!ined by failure to win the Tour de France, but he has the consolation of having won 14 other GC titles.
