Wins his first pro race at the Tour de l’Ain. On the rolling route to Arbent, featuring seven climbs, Alaphilippe is in a group of 20 riders on the final climb, before he attacks and solos to the win.
2015
Confirms his promise with a win on Mount Baldy at the Tour of California, aged 22. Attacks with 4km to and gets away from the stage favourites, such as climber Sergio Henao, to win by 23s.
2016
Secures his first GC title at the Tour of California, ahead of Rohan Dennis and Brent Bookwalter. Alaphilippe takes the race lead with a solo victory on the mountain-top finish at Gibraltar Road.
2017
Wins the stage 4 TT at Paris-Nice, his first WorldTour win, and with it takes over the yellow jersey. On a 14.5km course, the young Frenchman emphatically beats nearest rival Alberto Contador by 19s.
2017
Takes a first grand tour stage with a win on day eight of the Vuelta in Xorret de Catí. Gets into the break, follows Majka’s attacks on the final steep climb, then wins the three-up sprint.
2018
Finally gets a big one-day win at Flèche Wallonne, ending Valverde’s four-year streak. Follows Vanendert’s attack with 150m to go up the Mur de Huy, then kicks to accelerate past him.

Showcases his descending prowess on stage 10, the first of two wins at the Tour. His long-range move before the Col de la Colombière paid off, as he soloed 30km downhill to the win in Le Grand-Bornand.

Carries his Tour form to Spain to win Clásica San Sebastián, beating Mollema in the two-up sprint. The duo escape on the final climb to build up a good gap over the chasers in the last 8km.
2019
In his debut on the white gravel Tuscan roads, Alaphilippe shows no sign of beginner’s luck to win Strade Bianche. Makes the front group with Fuglsang and Van Aert and outsprints them.
2019
Wins his first monument title at Milan-San Remo, splitting the race on the Poggio, then kicking off the sprint on the Via Roma with 200m to go, beating Kwiatkowski and Naesen.
2019
Has the ride of his life to smash his rivals in the Tour time trial, while wearing the yellow jersey. Under the searing heat in Pau, he beats nearest rival Geraint Thomas by 14 seconds over 27.2km.
