The third in March’s trio of tough WorldTour stage races is arguably the hardest of the three, with a more mountainous parcours, and an illustrious history, which dates back to 1911. In 2020, it fell victim to the covid-19 pandemic and was cancelled. It will instead celebrate its hundredth edition a year late, in March of 2021.
