Ag2r had a very lean return in race victories in 2020 - Nans Peters’ stage 8 win at the Tour de France was the highlight. However, a new headline co-sponsor has brought a shift in team focus for 2021. As Romain Bardet and Pierre Latour leave, grand tour GC goals have been replaced with a more classics-centric roster. Greg Van Avermaet and Bob Jungels, from CCC and DQS, both monument winners, are sure to be at the sharp end of the cobbled and Ardennes classics. The French core of the team remains, but the addition of these two riders, to lead alongside Oliver Naesen, shows a new era has arrived.
