A rash of big signings and investment in 2020 produced limited results on Cofidis’s step up to the WorldTour. Just two wins over the season was a disappointing return, especially with Elia Viviani not yet recording a win since his move. Guillaume Martin’s debut season did see third at the Dauphiné and 11th at the Tour, but he had a difficult final week in the latter after holding third place out of the Pyrenees. Martin did take the mountains prize at the Vuelta, and will be looking to break into that grand tour top 10 (finally) this year. A plethora of signings for this year, led by Simon Geschke and Jempy Drucker, have given the team some backbone, but wins will be in short supply until Viviani can start firing.
