LOTTO SOUDAL
2020 World Ranking 17 Established 1985 Team Manager Marc Sergeant Bike Ridley
Having started the year with a bang at the Tour Down Under as Matthew Holmes broke Richie Porte’s run atop Willunga Hill, things were looking promising for Lotto Soudal in 2020. However the rejigged season seemed to stall the Belgian team and despite Caleb Ewan taking two Tour de France stage wins there was a feeling of what might have been as both John Degenkolb and Philippe Gilbert got injured, even if Tim Wellens helped restore some of the lost momentum with two stage wins at the Vuelta. There will be expectation on these big four to contribute once again in 2021 as classics and sprints remain the big targets, with the plethora of new additions mainly coming from Lotto’s U23 squad.
