The team formerly known as Dimension Data and NTT got a last-minute rebrand, and indeed a reprieve, as clothing manufacturer Assos stepped in to save the team from collapse at the end of 2020. Assos shares naming rights with the Qhubeka charity who have long been associated with the team. Due to the late confirmation of the team’s status for 2021, 19 riders have moved on, with some significant losses. The European and Italian road race champion Giacomo Nizzolo is staying, and he will be a key rider again for wins in 2021. His compatriot Domenico Pozzovivo will lead the team in stage races alongside Fabio Aru, who will hope the new start resurrects his career.
