Gianni Savio’s quintessentially Italian team has gradually been becoming more international and even more so this winter with the addition of eight new riders, from Argentina, Spain, Eritrea and Slovenia among others. Savio has a reputation for spotting and nuturing talent - see 18-year-old Santiago Umba from Boyaca, Colombia, who’s been snapped up this year. Eduardo Sepúlveda brings some experience from Movistar, while Jhonatan Restrepo, 26, is a solid sprinter who picked up four of the team’s wins last year. Expect the Giro to be the centre of their season.
