Tour de France Stage 18, Luz Ardiden

The very select yellow jersey group climbs through the upper hairpins of the final big mountain finish of the 2021 Tour, at Luz Ardiden. Race leader Tadej Pogačar is followed by Richard Carapaz, Jonas Vingegaard and Enric Mas, and while Mas will go on to make an ambitious attack to try and win the stage, he will be easily contained by his three companions. The top three on the stage is identical to the previous day’s finish on the Col du Portet, and also to the final podium in Paris: Pogacar first, Vingegaard second and Carapaz third. Though Movistar’s Mas has done well to live with them on this stage, it is clear who the three strongest climbers in the race are.
