Arctic Race of Norway
Stage 3, Målselv, Norway
7 AUGUST 2021
The peloton is strung out as it passes betweeen Finnsnes and Målselv in the very north of Norway during the third stage of this year’s Arctic Race. Arkéa-Samsic can be seen right at the front of the bunch, along with a rider from IntermarchéWanty- Gobert Matériaux, and one from Uno-X, followed by Burgos- BH. The stage was the most selective of the race, and the teams were attempting to set up their leaders for the final climb, Fjellandsby Summit, which was 3.7km at 7.7 per cent. Israel Start- Up Nation would taste victory with Ben Hermans winning on the climb for the second time in his career. Odd Christian Eiking of Intermarché would finish second, just failing to get round Hermans in the final 50m, which set the general classification top two for the remainder of the race.
