A Polish fan runs alongside the bunch as Jumbo-Visma rider Atwan Tolhoek shows the effort of riding at the front during the second stage of the Tour de Pologne. The finish looped around the town of Przemyśl, and saw the peloton tackle four selective climbs, finishing with a tough uphill finish in the town itself. Behind Tolhoek, in the white, blue and red helmet, is Matej Mohorič, who would go on to make a big attack in the closing stages. With the lead group all together going into Przemyśl, Mohorič pushed ahead on a stretch of cobbles with 1.6km to go. As he was caught, João Almeida of Deceuninck- Quick Step counterattacked and managed to hold off the chasers, even as Diego Ulissi of UAE Team Emirates looked like catching him. With the win, Almeida went into the leader’s jersey, which he would hold for the rest of the race.
