Q tv: LGBT TRAVEL GUIDE
The LGBT Travel Guide is a 12 episode series showcasing tourism locations around Australia and New Zealand. The show was created by Amelia Gilday, produced by Sydney based Moontan Productions , and is hosted by Abigail Honey. Season 1 premieres on TV2 Australia at 10pm on September 3rd and is available to watch for free!
The LGBT Travel Guide features LGBT+ focused or friendly attractions, businesses, and destinations. The goal of the series is to promote these travel spots as safe, inclusive, and of course fun for LGBT+ travellers.
Series creator Amelia says, "The show was developed by chatting with friends about what kind of travel show they'd want to watch and has been a stack of fun to shoot so far! It can be hard to find LGBT+ specific information when travelling so the show aims to do that for you. The purpose of the series is really to show that you can travel wherever, have a great time, and be yourself."
TV2 Australia is an exciting new lifestyle, entertainment and news channel. Moontan Productions and TV2 both aim to create enjoyable, educational, and inspiring content so it was a natural fit for the two groups to work together to get this show in front of audiences.
Sydney based actor Abigail Honey hosts along with a guest host at each destination. Abigail's recent credits include, License to Succeed (2018, Web series), Back in The Game (2017, Web series), 17 Minutes (2018, Short), Gills (2017, Theatre) and Rossu's Universal Robots (2017, Theatre). Honey states "I'm excited to be part of a unique travel show that offers the LGBT+ community something that hasn't been readily available in this format before".
