Cyber security
Think your business device is completely secure? You might need to take a closer look...
A device more than four years old may make your business vulnerable to malware attacks
In May, it was reported that WannaCry ransomware infected more than 230,000 computers in over 150 countries in just one day. It initially targeted businesses with outdated machines and was so effective due to a mechanism to automatically spread itself through the network once a user interacted with it.
It’s not a matter of when, but how
All it takes for malware to enter your network is one employee clicking on an infected email or web page download. HP’s security solutions are a step towards prevention. The HP EliteBook x360 comes with HP Sure Click, which means users don’t need to guess whether an email is legitimate or a phishing attack. Each web browser and tab is isolated so when it’s closed, everything associated with that browsing history is terminated and discarded. That means any malware affecting one tab has no effect on the operating system.
Computer security is more important than it’s ever been
Cyber attacks have evolved to an unprecedented level of sophistication. Attacks on computers (endpoints) have doubled over the past six years,* with almost 70 per cent of affected businesses only becoming aware of the breach after being notified by a third party.** Old security models may no longer be adequate and are creating vulnerable environments. Devices now need to be capable of protecting themselves.
