We asked our contributors: Do you have an inflight ritual?
Nigel Hopkins, writer (page 162)
“I always look forward to that first glass of wine – and perhaps a second – but I also drink a lot of water. Then I like to retreat into a zen-like space and enjoy the moment without any phones or communication. The only thing I wake up for is the food, particularly Neil Perry’s spiced lamb koftas.”
Katie Nicholl, writer (page 90)
“My routine is pretty simple: plenty of water throughout the flight and Linda Meredith Hydrating Mist and Hydrating Gel. I use Lucas’ Papaw Ointment, too. And earplugs are a must. I want to arrive looking as fresh as a daisy!”
Jamie Bowering, photographer (page 78)
“I’ve learnt to never miss an opportunity to get a great image so I like to shoot when I’m flying. For that reason, I always book a window seat and try to fly at dawn or dusk – for the soft light. It’s certainly cheaper than hiring a helicopter.”
