1. Go for a long bike ride in the hills above Los Gatos and Monte Sereno. The views are incredible and it’s a zen-like environment that encourages reflection.

2. I love to shop for my granddaughter at The Wooden Horse (wooden horsetoys.com) in Los Gatos. It has an extensive range of games, puzzles and toys.

3. The Hotel Los Gatos (hotellosgatos.com) is a quiet gem. It feels like a Mediterranean villa and is located just a few blocks from downtown Los Gatos.

4. Steamer’s (steamersrestaurant.com) is a great place for seafood, while Jack Rose Libation House ( jackrosebar.com) often hosts live music and is an excellent place for cocktails.

5. The Tech Museum of Innovation (thetech.org) can’t be beaten. It brings interactive science and technology together and is a landmark for those wanting to see what innovation in Silicon Valley is all about.
