Breitling Navitimer 1 Automatic 38 $5620 breitling.com
The latest version of the most recognisable pilot’s watch (thanks to its bi-directional slide-rule bezel) does away with the chronograph subdials and comes in a sleek 38millimetre package. It’s cased in steel with either a blue or black dial, or in steel with red-gold bezel and silver dial. The self-winding internals are COSC certified.
TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph GMT
$7750 tagheuer.com
The “3-6-9” counter layout of the original 1963 Carrera remains but this 45-millimetre GMT model is no vintage piece. The skeletonised dial reveals chronograph minutes and hours at 3 and 9 o’clock and small seconds at 6 o’clock. The lacquered red hand, in conjunction with the 24-hour ceramic bezel, indicates a second time zone.
IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Big Date Edition “150 Years”
$20,700 iwc.com
The 46.2-millimetre stainless-steel case and alligator strap remain but this new version of the Big Pilot’s Watch has a big date complication and two dials to choose from: dark blue with white printed markers or white with black printed markers and blued hands. The eight-day movement means you only have to wind it once a week.
