“Total flexibility is absolutely the future of the workplace and we’re implementing that in our day-to-day. Business leaders need to be ready to embrace whatever comes. Slack helps Culture Amp to achieve this by allowing us to collaborate and communicate in ways we couldn’t otherwise manage,” says Didier Eizinga, Culture Amp founder and CEO. Employee feedback and analytics platform Culture Amp (cultureamp.com) uses Slack to encourage an ethos called Working Out Loud, whereby employees are encouraged to work in an open and transparent way to help drive collaboration and trust across all four of their global offices (Melbourne, San Francisco, New York and London). Their core product is an employee feedback platform, which delivers surveys to employees by Neko, an app built by Culture Amp and easily integrated into the organisation’s Slack workplace. In this way, the process of collecting feedback can be automated. App integrations in Slack are a great way for users to customise how they use it and in many cases also provide greater options for automating work. With global clients including Airbnb, Disney, Nike and McDonald’s – as well as several AFL teams – Culture Amp uses Slack to help people work together and collaborate as easily online as they do in person, when staff are separated across different offices.

The more technology liberates workers from fixed offices, the more important quick and effective collaboration between individuals and groups becomes.
