Pack like a pro

Tommy Hilfiger takes his sartorial cues from the signature colour scheme of his brand.

Jacket

Everything looks better with a blazer. It’s the most versatile piece in any wardrobe and works for pretty much any occasion.

Pants

My classic chinos have a contemporary slim fit. They refresh a casual look and carry an outfit from day to night.

Grooming

I don’t use many products and my grooming routine is very simple. A good moisturiser and lip balm always help on long flights. I love to be outdoors so a good-quality sunscreen – such as La Mer SPF 50 UV Protecting Fluid – is a must.

Tech

My family is important to me so I like to keep in touch with them via my iPhone when I travel.

Plus, I use the phone to listen to music, which has always been a huge part of my life and a constant source of inspiration.

Accessories

My dad was a jeweller so I’m a longtime collector of watches. A great watch adds a unique twist to a classic outfit and helps you stand out from the crowd.

Reading

I enjoy returning to the classics like The Great Gatsby and The Catcher in the Rye, or a biography that inspires me, such as Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.

Luggage

I always take a Rimowa carry-on. It’s reliable and lightweight and has travelled with me all over the world.

Do you have any packing tips? I’m an overpacker so I try to stick to versatile pieces. Do you unpack at the hotel or live out of your suitcase? I travel so much that I don’t always have time to fully unpack. But I make sure I hang up blazers, shirts and tailored pants to keep them looking crisp. What do you wear for long flights? I like comfortable, sophisticated classics that take me straight from the plane into a business meeting or event. Easy layering is key when travelling so I pack lightweight items, such as cotton Oxford shirts and chinos.

What are your non-negotiables? My iPhone. I don’t go anywhere without it and always have it close by so I can connect with family and colleagues. Are you loyal to a particular

colour scheme or does it change each season? I love our signature colour palette of navy, red and white. I’m a detail fanatic and like to add a fresh twist of seasonal colour to elevate an outfit, such as bold buttons or a bright pocket square. Are you influenced by your destination

when packing? Beyond the adaptable basics, I always add a few other choices, depending on where I’m going. I recently visited Australia – one of my dream locations – for the first time. I love how Australians look stylish while channelling a laid-back attitude. One of our events was on a boat touring Sydney Harbour and I wore red chinos and white sneakers as a nod to the cool local vibe.
