Blue-sky thinking

Bring on the big ideas during a work escape to this creative space on the stunning South Coast of NSW.

-

To think outside the box, you have to get outside the box. An inspiring events and conference space in green-as-it-gets scenery between a lake and the spectacular beaches of the South Coast? That will do it. An easy 2.5-hour drive north-east of Canberra or 3.5 hours south of Sydney, Willinga Park in Bawley Point is a sprawling Australian stock horse stud and one of the country’s finest equestrian centres – complete with high-end meeting spaces designed for lively one-day think tanks or deluxe multi-day, retreat-style conferences for medium-sized business groups.

Switched-on escape

We’re talking big breaths of fresh air and country charm but we don’t mean rustic. Modern architecture with clean lines sets a slick tone and you’re working with solid wi-fi, quality AV and all the technology you need. The Conference Hall, which fits up to 350 delegates with a flexible layout, keeps energy levels up with natural light streaming through floor-to-ceiling windows, a 230-square-metre balcony and vast mountain views. The 20-person boardroom makes meetings seamless.

Overnight retreats

Sometimes you need to sleep on the big ideas. Multi-day retreats at Willinga Park fuse creativity and collaboration with the camaraderie of an escape. Luxurious one-bedroom pavilions are set among the trees and kitted out for comfort and self-contained privacy. Helmed by Matt Upson of Mollymook’s Tallwood Eatery fame (now GWYLO), the onsite restaurant celebrates local produce with a considered wine list and fully stocked bar.

Your team’s dream

The picturesque grounds and outdoor sculpture garden are ideal for breakout spaces or stretching your legs between work sessions but Willinga Park takes off-duty activities seriously. See dressage horses being put through their paces or wind down in the heated pool. The events team can arrange bespoke experiences with local guides for team-building that makes an impact.
