Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo

Adventure meets style with the German carmaker’s just-landed electric wagon.

-

I’ve heard of the Porsche Taycan sedan. How is the wagon different?

In short: versatility. The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo is the high-riding, long-bodied sibling of Porsche’s sell-out EV. The wagon gains 20 millimetres of ride height (30 millimetres if you take the Off-Road Design Package), extra rear headroom and more storage. It’s all-wheel drive, has adaptive air suspension and is fitted with the Taycan’s large 93.4kWh battery pack and Performance Battery Plus package as standard. This gives it a range of up to 437 kilometres, about 68 kilometres more than the entrylevel Taycan sedan. Where does it sit in the model range? The brandnew Taycan 4 Cross Turismo is the base variant, under the 4S and Turbo. But it’s still powerful, right? Oh, yes. Its dual motors boast a collective output of 280kW or 350kW and 500Nm of torque in Launch Control. That’s more than enough to pounce 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 220km/h. Will this EV suit

an active lifestyle? Sure will. The 4 Cross Turismo has decent ground clearance and a unique Gravel mode that can adapt to trickier roads. The interior is sporty and there’s also a leather-free version available. For cyclists, Porsche offers an optional rear two-bicycle carrier that doesn’t impede the tailgate being opened, even when the carrier is loaded. Plus, it’s stacked to the roof with intuitive, driver-focused tech – including DC fast charging and a three-year subscription to the Chargefox network. How much

is it? From $176,600, plus on-road costs. porsche.com
