And Just Like That...

Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon, above, left, with Parker and Davis) are back with a few new faces in this 10-episode chapter of Sex and the City. It’s darker but more thoughtful than the original series

– it explores issues such as death, gender, sexuality, conformity and ageing – and was received with mixed reviews (come on, Miranda would be right into podcasts and Samantha would show up for a particularly momentous occasion). But for any missteps there’s a constant salve – the series never scrimps on humour or style. Rated MA15+

Ragdoll

Based on a novel by Daniel Cole, this crime thriller follows three detectives as they hunt down a serial killer. Be warned: one 2021 headline asked, “Is Ragdoll this year’s goriest murder drama?” Rated MA15+

Dexter: New Blood

Almost a decade after the series finale of Dexter, Michael C. Hall (below) returns as the vigilante serial killer, now enjoying the quiet life in a small town with his girlfriend. But that might change when his son shows up. Rated MA15+

Curb Your Enthusiasm

Larry David (below, left) is still taking umbrage at all the small things in the 11th season of this series. Only this time, he’s busy developing his own TV show, Young Larry, without adding to his tally of enemies. Rated MA15+

The Sinner

In this anthological crime drama, police detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman, below) investigates a murder each season, revealing the killer’s often strange and shocking backstory. Rated MA15+
