An onboard food odyssey

-

The luxurious experiences don’t start and end at the ports of call. Seven Seas Grandeur’s 372 all-balcony suites feature a pocket-spring mattress wrapped in 1000-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, as well as marble and stone-detailed bathrooms. The ship’s common spaces, much like the immersive onshore food journeys, are also designed to evoke a sense of occasion. Take the 318-seat restaurant Sette Mari at La Veranda, which continues the Italian theme with a menu featuring sformato di ricotta, a ricotta and parmesan cheese tart with tomato basil sauce, or cozze alla marinara e pepperoncino, black mussels in a piquant sauce of garlic, chilli, fresh tomatoes and white wine. Positioned at the very top of the ship, the elegant Amalfi-inspired eatery has expansive ocean views from its intimate overwater alcoves and alfresco deck and its dining room has panoramic windows.

Hungry for more? The decadent French fine-dining restaurant, Chartreuse, takes its nostalgic design inspiration from the Art Deco style of early 20th-century Paris, while Prime 7 steakhouse delivers the romance of New York with a menu that takes classic American fare to new heights. The exquisite Compass Rose (above) is a chandelier-lit vision of modern refinement matched by its lobster bisque and Black Angus fillet mignon.

There’s also pan-Asian fare, such as grilled Korean barbecue lamb chops and handheld bites at the Poolside Grill. The truffle beef burger with sauteed mushrooms, caramelised onions and truffle aioli is a must-try.

And if you prefer to stay in the luxury of your suite, the 24-hour in-room dining menu offers a range of delicious choices delivered by white-gloved waitstaff to your door.
