The Mountain Between Us

Kate Winslet and Idris Elba star as Alex Martin, a journalist, and Ben Bass, a surgeon, in this adaptation of Charles Martin’s 2011 bestseller. The pair meets at the airport as they learn that poor weather conditions have led to the cancellation of their Baltimorebound flight. Both urgently need to find an alternative: Alex, for her wedding the following day and Ben for surgery. Alex organises a small charter plane and Ben joins her.

The plane’s pilot (Beau Bridges) loses control of the aircraft midflight and crashes atop the Colorado

Mountains, killing himself instantly. Alex and Ben find themselves injured and stranded on a remote snowcovered mountain. Worse still, they discover that their pilot didn’t file a flight plan and their phones were destroyed in the crash. No one knows their whereabouts.

Their survival hinges on the connection they have with one another. They attempt – in the face of their injuries, freezing temperatures and the vast, harsh wilderness – to trek hundreds of kilometres down the mountain, drawing on a strength they never thought possible.
