Debbie Harry

The singer was born on July 1, 1945, in Miami, Florida. There she had her first gigs as a singer before moving to New York in the 1960s. When she joined the band The Stilettos, she met guitarist Chris Stein, who later became her long-term boyfriend. In 1974 Harry and Stein formed the band Blondie. The band folded in 1982, before the couple broke up in the mid 1980s. In the late 1990s Harry reunited with her bandmates and toured in Europe. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. Debbie Harry lives in New York to this day.
