Tale of Survival

The Bonus Read ‘When Lighting Strikes’ (August) was fabulous. Justin Gauger’s story is incredible. I am sorry that he is still suffering the effects of the lightning strike, but the fact that he survived is truly miraculous. The way his story was relayed – “his body was smoking” – is chilling, and the image of his boot showing how the lightning made its way through his body, burning a hole through the sole to exit, is the stuff of nightmares.

It’s unusual stories such as this one that keeps me interested in your magazine year after year. JIM CRAVEN
