Neurosurgeon Dr Daniel McNeely has won fans from around the world after tweeting about performing ‘surgery’ on eight-year-old Jackson McKie’s teddy bear – before removing a cyst from Jackson’s brain for his chronic condition.

The Twitter caption read, “Patient asks if I can also fix teddy bear just before being put off to sleep … how could I say no?”

Although it was the neurosurgeon’s first time operating on a stuffed animal, the teddy bear’s small tear in his arm was expertly mended and Jackson was ‘tickled pink’ to have his furry friend by his side in recovery.
