Finding A Family

‘Learning to Love’ by Melissa Fay Greene (September) has stayed with me. For Izidor to have had such a painful life – unable to comprehend what love is, not be able to relate to a loving family and then to meet his biological parents and discover all they wanted was his hard-earned money – is so sad.

I think that in the photo of Izidor, at age 30, there is still a troubled tension depicted in his facial expression. It took the earthshattering shock of his adoptive family’s involvement in an accident

for Izidor to realise how much they mean to him.
