Don’t Interrupt, Please

I went to the cinema with my mother and her friend, which was a mistake because they kept chatting to each other during the film. The man behind us so got fed up he said, “Excuse me, I can’t hear a word.”

Mum looked at him crossly and replied, “I should hope not. This is a private conversation.”

It’s a good job it was dark – my face was red with embarrassment.
