ANOTHER TYPE OF ‘EMPTY NEST’

A tiny penduline tit chick pokes its head out of its pouch-like nest one last time before taking flight. The home it is leaving is constructed from twigs, animal hair and spider webs, among other things, and has a hidden chamber where the chicks mature, concealed by a secret flap.
