Looking For Love? Pets Find Homes With App

Seeking a long-term relationship with someone single, lonely – and furry? In Munich, Germany, there’s an app for that.

Faced with an influx of animals that were adopted during lockdowns and then surrendered when owners returned to work, the Munich Animal Welfare Association teamed up with an advertising agency to create ‘dating’ profiles for 15 adoptable pets on the popular app Tinder. Complete with photos and a list of things the animals like and dislike (twoyear-old cat Captain Kirk, for example, enjoys cuddles but not small children), the profiles have received overwhelming interest.

After being screened, prospective adopters arrange a meet-and-greet with their new match at the shelter.
