Make sure that your vessels are in proportion to the size of your table. Nothing looks stingier than just one tiny bowl on a large table.
To create height in your arrangement, you can use plinths
(little stands). These don’t have to be actual columns (who has those lying around?!). Instead, try using cake stands, upside-down bowls or tumblers, candle holders and stacks of books to display fruit on. To get more surface area, you can Blu-Tack a small dish or saucer on top of the upsidedown bowl to create a mini cake stand.
Fruit that’s in season is the most affordable, so buy lots!
