I would describe my drumming style as…

“Fairly simplistic but punchy. There are definite punk rock influences in my playing. I like to play around with the feel of timings a lot, changing from standard to double-time or half-time can really change a song.”

The secret to playing drums well is…

“Take your time with it and play to a metronome.”

I use…

“When playing live I use a four-piece Mapex Mars Nightwood crossover kit: 14" snare, 12", 16", 22" with a Mapex P600 kick pedal. Sabian XSR cymbals, 14" hi-hats, 20" ride, 16" Fast crash and 18" crash. Vic Firth 5A sticks. Roland TD4 and Alesis Samplepad Pro, but I am yet to use either of these live.”

My first drumset was…

“It didn’t have a brand on it anywhere. It was old. It had a belt-driven kick pedal and some parts had rusted. I got a Roland TD4 about 10 months after.”

My favourite drummers ever to date are…

“Vinnie Fiorello (Less Than Jake) and Chad Smith.”

Self-taught or lessons?

“Lessons for the first few years, now I find things on the internet to help with new practice routines.”

Best drumming advice I’ve been given is…

“‘Don’t practise until you get it right, practise until you never get it wrong,’ which is a quote from a tutor when I was in college.”

What I’m up to right now is…

“After the release of our first EP ( TheSatoriSession) we have gigs locally and working on a few new things. I’m still doing covers on my Youtube channel.”
