LOCKETT GETS SYMMETRICAL

New book from percussion hero

Pete Lockett has unveiled his latest project: a brand new book.

The 68-page tome features ideas and exercises in a range of time signatures – starting with 4/4 and building up to 6/8, 5/4 and culminating in 7/4. The basic paradiddle form is woven throughout all of these paterns and concepts.

It certainly sounds good to us, but you don’t need to take our word for it. You don’t even need to rely on Lockett’s word. No, you can gauge the opinion of a couple of drum heroes who have given their backing to the project.

“Follow this book as far as it will lead you, and your efforts will be amply rewarded,” beams British prog drumming icon Bill Bruford. “Just when you think there is not much more you can do with a paradiddle, Lockett comes along with this deceptively simple looking volume that will keep you busy for years.”

And it’s not just Bruford who is impressed. US education maestro Dom Famularo says, “Once you have journeyed with Stick Control by George L Stone, you can continue with Symmetric al Sticking s by Pete Lockett!”
