Slow-down sail sends satellitte to its death

-

3 In late 2019, the mission ends by the RemoveDEBRIS satellite unfolding a rectangular sail of 10 m2. The sail will increase the resistance by which the satellite is affected due to air molecules in the low orbit. The extra slow-down will mean that it only takes 10 weeks to meet the atmosphere, in which the satellite will burn up. Without the sail, it would take more than two years.
