Which animal can fly for the longest time?

-

Common swifts remain in the air for the longest time. Swedish scientists discovered this in 2016, when they used small transmitters that weigh less than 1 g to observe swifts for a year. The data showed that swifts only land during the months in which lay eggs and feed their offspring. Subsequently, they take off again and remain in the air, as they eat, sleep, and even mate. So, their Latin genus name Apus (without feet) makes sense.
