Floating refinery converts gas into liquid

Gas takes up a lot of space, making it difficult to transport. But when natural gas is cooled to its liquid state, it only takes up 1/600 of its gaseous volume. Consequent­ly, engineers have fitted a complete refinery into the hull of the huge vessel, so it can purify, cool, and compress the gas, before it is carried to consumers.
