‘GLASS RAIN’ FALLS TO THE GROUND

The glass drops harden into balls high up in the atmosphere. The first balls hit Tanis 13-25 minutes after the impact, and the glass rain continues to fall for two hours. On their way through the atmosphere, the balls heat the air around them, probably setting the vegetation of the area on fire.
