The all-new Sand­bar in Surfers Par­adise has some new sto­ries tell af­ter close to 20 years in the busi­ness. Not only is it about the stun­ning new Hamp­tons-meets-har­bour-side fit out, a fresh menu has been styled by one of the best global chefs on the culi­nary planet. Head chef Maxie Hill, orig­i­nally from Ire­land, worked for in­dus­try le­gend Rick Stein where he rose to be­come Rick’s head chef for more than four years. Trav­el­ling the world with Rick work­ing on his iconic cook­ing travel show, Maxie met some amaz­ing chefs on his jour­ney who shared their lo­cal se­crets on in­gre­di­ents and tech­niques - one could say Maxie truly is a pro­tégé of in­ter­na­tional in­flu­ence. Di­verse in of­fer with a con­tem­po­rary take on some old favourites, Sand­bar’s break­fast, lunch and din­ner dishes cap­ture the salty sea­side spirit while stay­ing de­li­ciously af­ford­able. A must-do when you’re in Surfers.
