1 JUSTIN’S PARK/ JOHN LAWS PARK, BURLEIGH

If it’s a BBQ with a view you’re af­ter, look no fur­ther than Burleigh Heads. Both the beach­front Justin’s Park and John Laws Park (known as Burleigh Hill to lo­cals) of­fer clean, pris­tine bar­be­cue fa­cil­i­ties as well as beach ac­cess, toi­lets, nearby restau­rants and – most fa­mously – a stun­ning view of the Gold Coast.

2 KIRRA HILL LOOK­OUT

Perched be­tween North Kirra and Green­mount Beaches, the view from Kirra Hill Look­out is most cer­tainly worth the trek up the hill. Sprawl­ing views from Coolan­gatta right up to Surfers Par­adise make this one of the best sun­set spots on the Gold Coast, best en­joyed with a bar­be­cued burger in hand.

3 LA­GUNA PARK, PALM BEACH

This spot is a pop­u­lar wed­ding des­ti­na­tion and, af­ter tak­ing one look at the stun­ning water­front lo­ca­tion and tow­er­ing palm trees, you’ll un­der­stand why. This quiet slice of Palm Beach par­adise is per­fect for fam­ily get-to­geth­ers.

4 TALLEBUDGERA CREEK

If it’s ab­so­lute water­front bar­be­cues you’re af­ter, look no fur­ther than Tallebudgera Creek. A respite from the hus­tle and d bus­tle of the Gold Coast, the crys­tal-clear ocean creek also offers play­grounds, toi­let fa­cil­i­ties and a rock pool.

5 PALM BEACH PARK­LANDS (PI­RATE PARK)

Fam­i­lies with young chil­dren will par­tic­u­larly love this park, which boasts an enor­mous pi­rate ship as a play­ground. 6 PAR­ADISE POINT PARK­LANDS
