PAPER LEAF WREATH

-

This is another great decoration that is not as difficult as it may look!

1 Using some scrap cardboard, trace and cut two different-sized circles, one inside the other so that it looks like a donut. I used a large dinner plate for the outer edge and a cereal bowl for the smaller inner circle. Do the same with a piece of cardstock and set aside for now.

2 Punch, die-cut or hand-cut approximately 65-70 leaves from a variety of Christmas patterned papers. The number of leaves you will need will depend on the size of your leaf and the size of your base circle. Slightly fold each leaf down the centre without actually creasing it, and then shape the leaves with your fingers so that they curl and have a bit of shape.

3 Start by layering your leaves onto the cardboard ring and staple each leaf into position, making sure you staple as far down the base of the leaf as possible. Work your way around the base, alternating the different patterned leaves as you go, and layering them so that the cardboard base and staples are not visible.

4 Once you meet up at the beginning, you will need to carefully lift the leaves up so that you can get your stapler in to staple the last layer of leaves down. Staple a piece of ribbon or twine to the back of the cardboard base to give the wreath something to hang from. Now place the cardstock ring that you cut previously onto the back of your cardboard base and adhere it down. Add a tied bow and button or other embellishment to the front to finish it off.

Merry Christmas everyone!
