WHEN READY TO USE YOUR REEF HOOK, FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS:
IDENTIFY A HOOK SPOT
Look for an area of the reef without too much live coral and some solid, anchored rocks
HOOK IN
Attach your reef hook to a piece of rock or rubble and give it a tug to make sure that it’s secure before letting go
LENGTHEN LINE
Slowly extend the line by letting out the daisy chain or unwinding the line
INFLATE BCD
When you lengthen the line, make sure to add a few puffs of air to the BCD. This will help you rise above the reef while hooked in, limiting any potential damage to the coral
TAKE IT ALL IN
Enjoy the spectacle taking place before your eyes without having to grab onto the reef or kick strenuously
