Forum to meet those standing

Seymour Telegraph - - NEWS -

With the Victorian State election just weeks away, a timely ‘Meet the Candidates’ forum is being held tomorrow at 7 pm at the Uniting Church in Crawford St.

There are four candidates vying for the seat of Euroa: incumbent Steph Ryan (The Nationals), Fionna Deppeler-Morton (Labor), Don Firth (independant) and Keppel Cassidy (Greens).

All four have confirmed they will be attending the forum.

Candidates will give a four-minute introduction on themselves and their policies, and will then be given two minutes to answer questions.

Community members can bring their questions or write them on arrival by 6.30 pm, and they will be handed directly to moderator John Keefe and answered first. Time permitting, questions from the floor will be taken after that.

A light supper will follow, giving people the opportunity to chat with candidates and get clarification on something of interest to them.

‘‘It is important that we make an informed choice as the elected members will be there for the next four years, so we hope a large number of voters will attend, ensuring a good variety of questions,’’ The Seymour We Want member Pat Coffey said.
