Chisholm wins

Coun­cil­lor Bill Chisholm is Mitchell Shire Coun­cil’s new mayor, af­ter be­ing elected at Mon­day night’s coun­cil meet­ing.

Mayor Chisholm was elected with a 6-3 vote over Coun­cil­lor David Lowe, and will hold the role for 12 months.

Coun­cil­lor David Atkin­son was unan­i­mously elected as Deputy Mayor to Mayor, Cr Chisholm, un­op­posed.

Cr Chisholm takes over the role from fel­low north ward coun­cil­lor Rhonda San­der­son, who has served as Mitchell Shire’s mayor for the past two years.

Coun­cil­lors are now half way through their four-year term, af­ter be­ing elected in 2016.
