MMG gets six cadets from Canberra
McPherson Media Group, the parent company of The Telegraph, has been awarded a grant through the Regional and Small Publishers Cadetships Program, to help drive regional journalism.
The grant will support six cadetships across the group.
The Federal Government has provided $1.78 million for more than 41 regional and small publishers across Australia.
Federal Member for Murray Damian Drum said the grants were important to make sure the journalism profession continued to attract Australia’s best and brightest individuals and encouraged them to live and work outside the major cities.
‘‘Regional Australia has a great standard of journalism and it is important that we continue to attract young people to the profession,’’ he said.
