Two men charged over fatal Kalkallo shooting

Two men have been charged with murder and home invasion following a fatal shooting in Kalkallo in September.

A 31-year-old Wallan man and a 24-year-old Mickleham man were arrested on Monday, October 10 and each charged with murder and home invasion.

The two men faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 11.

Both are currently on remand to face court again in February. They made no application for bail.

The charges follow an incident in Kalkallo on September 21 where a 22-year-old Kalkallo man was fatally shot.

Emergency services were called to an address on Oodgeroo Rd shortly after 4.15am following reports a man had been injured during an altercation at the address.

When police attended, the Kalkallo man was found dead at the property.

Two more individuals were charged with home invasion and a further two released pending further inquiries.

Investigators believe the shooting was a targeted incident and the parties involved were known to each other.
